Types
of appliances we use include elastic (rubber bands), and an expander,

used on the lower arch when there is an early loss of a younger
tooth. A fixed retainer serves as a way to bond wires to the upper
and lower arches that hold your teeth in place, most often used in
severe cases. Forsus devices are used in overbite cases as a spring
connected to the brackets that brings your jaw forward. Herbst
appliance is an alternative to jaw surgery because it stimulates
lower jaw growth while deliberately providing stability after your
braces come off. The facemask is used in underbite cases with
adolescents before the age of 9 in order to avoid jaw surgery later
in life. The TPA appliance runs across your palette while holding
your teeth in place if a primary tooth is lost earlier than usual.
